One of the world's largest companies engaged in the sale of furniture, Swedish IKEA, may soon expand its operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, pogled.ba reports, referring to the ABC portal.
Although the information has not been fully confirmed, IKEA said their experts were sent to test the Bosnian market, and judging by the extremely great interest by the citizens, the opening of the Swedish giant could happen in the foreseeable future.
Announcements about the possible entry of Swedish IKEA in the BiH market come at a time of deteriorated political situation in the country because of which retail chain Lidl gave up on operating in BiH.
While many BiH citizens rush to the Croatian capital for IKEA, they could soon have an additional reason for that. The Swedish chain of furniture stores is opening a designer outlet in Zagreb, in which it will invest a whopping 88 million Euros.
“Designer oultlet Croatia” is designed as a shopping and tourist attraction in the center of Zagreb, but besides the outlet, IKEA announced the construction of a hypermarket, a retail store, gas station and two fast food chains. The IKEA’s project should be completed by 2018.
