Sarajevo court launches bankruptcy proceedings against Bosnia's BH Airlines

A Sarajevo court has initiated bankruptcy proceedings against Bosnia's air carrier BH Airlines.

The municipal court has invited all creditors to report their claims within 30 days from the day a notice of bankruptcy has been published in the Official Gazette.

A hearing to examine the claims has been scheduled for December 8.

BH Airlines’ total debt amounts to 42.8 million marka (21.9 million euro), as the larger part, or 25.4 million marka, is owed to asset resolution company HETA under a finance lease agreement for two aircraft.

The flag carrier owes Sarajevo International Airport 6.4 million marka, while foreign suppliers have claims to a total of 4.3 million marka.

Employees are owed 2.7 million marka on the basis of unpaid gross salaries, while debts to postal operator JP BH Posta amount to 1.4 million marka.
