Sarajevo City Hall, the most beautiful and the most representative building from Austro-Hungarian period in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was visited by around 3,500 people in June.
Since the opening of the restored City Hall on 9 May 2014, the symbol of Sarajevo was visited by more than 150.000 people.
The coordinator in the City Hall Admir Dedovic said that the number of visitors this year is similar to the previous year. Most of the guests come from Turkey, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.
Dedovic said visitors cannot remain indifferent to the beauty of this building, and there is a great interest in two permanent exhibitions in the museum that tell the story of the renewal and the work of the City Hall.
The Hall was first officially opened on 20 April 1896, after two years of construction. The building was used by the city government. Since 1947, the City Hall is home to the National and University Library. The building was burned down on 25 August 1992.
