Robert De Niro has received a lifetime achievement award, the Heart of Sarajevo, on the opening night of the 22nd edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival, which runs Aug. 12-20.
Director of SFF Mirsad Purivatra handed the prestigious award to Hollywood actor in the Sarajevo Open Air Cinema.
“Thank you, Miro. I will appreciate and keep this award because there is no other city in the world that shows his heart and courage in spite of the tragedy,” said De Niro.
“SFF and Tribeca share a similar philosophy, the power of film and art that connects us. They were created in difficult conditions and the struggle to maintain and survive. I am honored to be part of this mission,” said the famous actor.
