Commercial counselor at the Austrian Embassy in BiH Sigmund Nemeti said that 500 Austrian companies are interested in investing and working in BiH.
Nemeti pointed out that Austria is fourth biggest investor in BiH, and that the trend of investing in BiH will continue.
At the meeting with the citizens of Srebrenica, organized Monday by Citizens Association “European house”, Nemeti said that economic relations between BiH and Austria are developing and that the two countries are widening cooperation. He said about 200 Austrian companies are operating in BiH, of which most are from the banking and insurance sectors.
“The cement factory from Lukavac also opened, and, in addition, there are some Austrian companies in the field of processing metal, leather, textiles and furniture production,” said Nemeti.
He says he met with representatives of several agricultural cooperatives in Podrinje and Srebrenica on the possibilities of cooperation in the field of developing and processing berries this region is known for. Nemeti presented the citizens data on the economic relations of Austria and BiH, and spoke about the advantages and difficulties faced by the investors while opening and registering new companies.
The meeting was held in Srebrenica’s “Home of Good Tones” that has been renovated and is open thanks to the support of the Austrian humanitarian organization “Farmers help farmers”.
