First BiH company with revenue of more than 1 billion KM

BiH Power Company Elektroprivreda BiH achieved 1.034 billion KM of revenues in 2016, which is by 50 million more than in 2015 and is a record in the new history of the company.

The profit earned in the previous year amounted to 12.86 million KM.

– Despite the fact that the 2016 was the first fiscal year in terms of the open electricity market, and despite the bad hydrological and weather conditions, continuous production, regular and stable supply, achieved financial results significantly higher than planned and the results which ended 2015, are indicators of a successful operations of the company and contribution to the preservation of the power sector as a stable part of BiH economy – the company stated.

Compared to 2015, coal production in the last year increased by about 445,000 tons, or almost 10 percent.

For the first time in the recent history of Elektroprivreda BiH, in 2016, prices for final customers of electricity reduced which is a confirmation of corporate social responsibility and operations of the company.

While keeping the position of the largest producer and supplier of electricity in the country, the power company has also maintained the status of one of the largest investors in BiH in 2016.

Within the realization of strategically important projects, the company began the construction of HPP Vranduk, the first hydro power plant since the end of the 80s, and the first on the river Bosna; announced public calls for selection of contractors and service providers, and suppliers of equipment for the construction of a wind farm Podvelezje, Draft loan agreement for construction of Block 7 in TPP Tuzla, have been forwarded to the FBiH Ministry of Finance to issue a guarantee for the loan arrangement for the construction of the Block.

Within the continuation of the process of recapitalization of mines, the investment plan has been also adopted for 2016-2018, in the amount of 329 million KM.
