Last week twenty members of the public employment services (PES) staff in BiH attended a five-day training course Start and Improve Your Business organised under the project „EU4Business – for competitive and innovative local economy” funded by the European Union.
This training is based on the methodology of the International Labour organisation (ILO) and its purpose is to help the PES staff work with unemployed individuals applying for self-employment programs, i. e. those who are eager to start up their own business.
The Start and Improve Your Business program (SIYB) is one of the major global training programs in the area of business management. It helps entrepreneurs to start up and develop their business, and is used a strategy for creation of new decent jobs. The program includes a number of modules for developing entrepreneurial skills, and the PES staff have been introduced to the modules focusing on generating a business idea and planning for business.
All participants have received manual that will help their work with end beneficiaries – future entrepreneurs. SIYB manuals have been translated to 40 different languages so far and thanks to the European Union, the manuals are now available in official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
