Bosnia's 300-megawatt (MW) Ugljevik coal-fired power plant will go offline for a three-month regular overhaul in July, plant manager Djordje Popovic said on Monday.
The Ugljevik and another 300 MW coal-fired plant at Gacko are operated by Bosnia's second-largest power utility, Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (ERS).
The plant has recently started a flue gas desulphurisation project which will reduce the emission of SO2 from its current level of around 16,000 milligrams per cubic metre (mg/m3) or 60 times the level in European Union (EU) regulations, to 250 mg/m3.
