The BiH Council of Ministers has adopted, at the special session, a decision on the withdrawal of the first tranche of the Extended Arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the amount of nearly 78 million Euros.

The Council of Ministers has authorized the Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda to issue a promissory note and carry out the necessary activities within its jurisdiction for the withdrawal of the first tranche.

Two-thirds of the amount is allocated to the budget of the Federation of BiH and one-third to the budget of the Republika Srpska.

It is expected that the first tranche should be disbursed on 9 September, after the Executive Board of the IMF approves the new Extended Arrangement for Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 7.

The arrangement is worth a total of 550 million Euros and the money will be paid in tranches over a period of three years.
