The government of Bosnia and Herzegovina has promised the IMF to conduct due diligence of state-owned operators BH Telecom and HT Mostar by the end of October, as part of its financing package obligations.
It will also discuss the opportunities and modalities to increase the profitability of these companies by improving corporate governance or selling shares.
Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalic said that, with the help of the World Bank, they will try to increase the efficiency of these companies, and their revenues and profits, which have been in decline.
He added that the intention is that the telecom operators take out loans from commercial banks to finance the construction of infrastructure.
