Bosnia's state-level government said it has drafted an agreement for a 10 million euroloan with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to finance a rehabilitation project at the port of Brcko.

The draft agreement will be submitted to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Council of Ministers said in a statement on Thursday.

The project, expected to be completed by the end of 2019, should increase by 25% the port's transhipment volume, which will have a positive impact on the economic development of the region.

The loan should be repaid in 15 years, including a three-year grace period, the government said earlier.

The port of Brcko, on the Sava River in northern Bosnia, is a key regional transport hub.
