Bosnia's banking sector ended 2016 with a net profit of 220.4 million marka ($120.6 million/112.7 million euro), sharply up from 31.6 million marka profit in the previous year, Raiffeisen Research said on Friday.
Out of 23 single banks in Bosnia, only three showed a negative net financial result – Addikor Mostar, Addiko Banja Luka and Pavlovic banka, while the remaining 20 registered a combined profit of 284.3 million marka, Raiffeisen Research said in a CEE weekly report.
The two most profitable banks were Unicredit Mostar with a net profit of 81.5 million marka, and Raiffeisen Bank Bosnia and Herzegovina with 52.5 million marka.
The Bosnian banks’ NLP ratio dropped by 190 bps to 11.8% at end-2016, the lowest level since 2011.
